Improvement Action Guide in Lean Agile Intelligence

Important Note: This documentation is out of date. Please refer to our Improvement Action (IA) Journey in Lean Agile intelligence for more up-to-date information.

Post-assessment discussions often lead to actionable insights. In Lean Agile Intelligence (LAI), these insights can be transformed into "Improvement Actions." These actions are pivotal steps your team can undertake to achieve specific goals or address and document impediments. This guide will walk you through the process of creating, managing, and optimizing these actions.

Creating Improvement Actions:

1. After discussing assessment results, navigate to the Results dashboard.

2. Select the desired entity and then choose a question to create improvement actions for.

3. A detailed view of the selected question will appear. Navigate to the Improvement Action tab.

4. Click on the + icon to start crafting a new improvement action.

5. First, determine the action type:

  1. Goal: An actionable task your team can undertake and complete.

  2. Impediment: A challenge outside your team's control, documented for higher-ups or coaches to address.

6. If there's a related action item in another task management platform (e.g., ADO), you can link it using the External Link field.

7. Populate the Title and Description fields with relevant details.

8. Assign the Owner Role to specify which team role will be responsible for the action.

9. The state is preset to Active, but you can toggle it to Closed if needed.

10. Once all details are filled in, click Save.

Managing Improvement Actions:

  1. Editing:

    • Post-creation, you can revisit and modify the improvement action details as needed.

  2. Deletion:

    • If an action becomes irrelevant or is mistakenly created, you can easily delete it from the system.

Tips:

  • Regularly review and update Improvement Actions to ensure they align with your team's evolving goals and challenges.

  • Utilize the external linking feature to maintain a centralized view of all related tasks and actions across platforms.

  • You can create Jira-Mapped Improvement Actions by using our Jira Integration. Check out our Jira Documentation here.
