1. Create an Organization

Details

  • Creates a LAI unique instance for your organization’s content and users upon initial login

Steps To Create an Organization

  • At the Sign up/Login Screen, sign up with a new username and email

  • Check email for activation link and select when received

  • Enter Organization details when prompted via PopUp

2. Create a Group

Details

  • “Groups” consist of multiple teams and allow organization members to see aggregate results across multiple teams

    1. Some examples of “Groups” are Business Units, Component Units, or Programs

Steps to Create A Group

  • Select Create Group button

    1. Enter a Group Name

    2. If you want it to be a sub group of another group, select a parent group.

    3. Select Save

3. Create an Entity

Details:

  • A “Entity” is an individual, group of individuals, team, or group of teams that will take a “Self-Assessment.”

    1. There are Three Types of Entities to choose from:

      1. Individual

      2. Team

      3. Agile At Scale

    2. Use the “Individual” entity when you wish to have one person take the “Self-Assessment” or a group of people who wish take take an assessment based on an individual role. For example, a Scrum Master wishing to self-assess should be assigned an “Individual” entity type even if you have a large number of scrum members take the assessment. As the assessment would be focused on an individuals goals, the “Individual” entity type should be used.

    3. Use the “Team” entity when you wish to have a team take a “Self-Assessment” on criteria related to a team. An example of this would be a scrum team taking a scrum assessment.

    4. Use the “Agile At Scale” entity when you wish to go beyond a person or team and have programs, portfolios, or teams of teams take a “Self-Assessment.”

Steps to Create An Entity

  • Select create entity button and enter a name, select next

  • Select the entity type

  • If you want this entity to belong to a group, select the group and select save. If you want it to just belong to the organization, just select save

4. Assessment Template Builder

Details:

  • Admin/Super Users have write access, Facilitators and Team Members have read access.

Practice Catalog:

  • The “Practice Catalog Tree” on the left side of the page contains Agile and Lean “Practices” from a multitude of sources

  • Choose Enterprise, Portfolio/Program, Team, or Individual to view only practices related to that filtered option.

  • Filter by Out of the Box (Framework and Framework Agnostic) or Custom by selecting from the Type drop down menu and Business outcome by selecting from the Outcomes drop down menu.

  • Note: you can filter on multiple variables (type, outcomes, etc)

  • Search for a practice by name by entering text into the search box.

  • View the “Agility Stage Criteria” that will be presented to the “Entity” during a “Self-Assessment” by clicking on the “Practice”

  • Customize an existing “Agility Stage Criteria” or impacted outcomes by clicking on it and selecting “Copy/New”

  • This will create a custom instance of the out of the box “Practice” for you to alter

  • Create a new “Practice” by clicking on “Create Practice”

  • Add “Practices” that “Entites” will assess themselves to the “Assessment Template” by selecting the “check box” next to the “Practice” name

  • Note: Practices are sorted by Agility Stage

  • Note: All custom assessments are initially assigned a None level, and can be edited

  • Note: A practice can only belong to one level

  • Note: Agility Stage and Level can also be customized when creating or copying a practice

  • Note: Custom practices can be edited at any time

  • Note: Custom practices can be deleted if they are not used in an assessment template that was used by an entity

Practice Impact Ratio:

  • As “Practices” are selected the “Practice Impact Ratio” will update in real time. This calculation is a propriety algorithm that shows the percentage of practices that impact the Business Outcome. It takes into account

  • Total Number of “Practices” in “Assessment Template”

  • Total Number of “Practices” Impacting the Business Outcome

  • Hover over practice impact ratio to see a breakdown of the number of practices in the assessment template.

Save:

  • When you are done building the “Assessment Template,” select “Save As” and provide a name

  • Selecting “Save” overwrites an existing template

  • You cannot edit an assessment used by an entity for referential integrity purposes, the instance you wish to, use the “Save As” option.

Delete:

  • Select the “Delete” option when you wish to delete a custom template

  • Note: You cannot delete an assessment template that was used by an entity due to referential data integrity issues

Viewing Existing Templates:

  • Exiting “Assessment Templates” can be opened by selecting “Open Assessment Template”

  • Exiting “Assessment Templates” cannot be modified if they were previously used to conduct a “Self-Assessment.” However, they can be copied by selecting “Save As.”

5. Invite Members

Details:

  • “Members” of an “Organization” are those that will participate in an assessment and/or analyze “Results.”

    1. They are considered “Members”. This is different than “Participant Only” users who DO NOT need to be invited but can only participate in assessments with no other functionality.

    2. Note in order for “Members” to become part of an “Organization”, they have to be invited by the “Admin” and if needed, an “Admin” can re-invite ”Members”  who have not yet accepted by selecting the “Re-Invite” button, this includes previously deleted members.

    3. Members have the ability to setup entities and groups. They can launch templates AND customize them. They can also create templates from scratch using over 250 provided practices or create their own practices.

    4. Members have the ability to view all dashboards and results, reference source citations, and have access to LAI coaching tools such as the Outcome Improvement Model Canvas and the Outcome Improvement/Coaching Model Template.

Steps to Invite Members:

  • Enter email address and display name

    1. Select the “+” button for as many people as you would like to invite

    2. When you are finished adding people, select the add button

6. Member Attributes

Details

  • “Member” Attributes for each user (Note: Participant-only users will not be seen in Member Attributes)

    1.  Status:

      • Active: Member can access LAI and is included in billing

      • Inactive: Member can no longer access LAI and is not included in billing

      • Pending: Waiting on member to confirm account via email (Will not be able to participate until Active)

      • Note: Attributes can be assigned to all members, including Pending Members

      • Entity Role: Role on “Entity” (Optional)

      •  Permissions:

        • Admin: Permission to all functionality including conducting “Self-Assessments” and “Organization” setup. They can view all “Entity” results

        • Super User: Permission to build “Assessments Templates,” conduct “Self-Assessments”, and view all “Entity” results

        • Facilitator: Permission to conduct assessments and review results for all assigned entities. If assigned to all entities in a group, group results will be viewable. Facilitators have read only access to the template builder.

        • Team Member (Default): Permission to participate in “Self-Assessments,” and view results from the entities they are assigned to

    2. Members can be deleted via selecting “Delete”.

      • Note: Members cannot be deleted if an assessment is currently in progress

      • Note: A deleted member can be re-invited to the organization

    3. Filter by Entity by choosing from the filter drop down menu and selecting the “Filter” option

      • Note: “None” in the entity filter will return all members that are not assigned to an entity
