Agile Coach:

The Agile Coach template encompasses the aspects that make up a well-rounded Agile Coach. Coaching, Facilitating, Team Building, Training, XP, Scrum, Lean, Organization Change and much more are all included. This can be used for personal growth as well as a way to help an Agile Coach with depth and breadth for their career path.

Agile Leadership:

Our custom Leadership assessment encompasses every aspect of the competencies that make up a great leader in a lean and agile environment. Influenced by multiple generations of leaders, the assessment provides the ability for leaders to reflect and improve on their enablement function in today’s fast-moving business environments.

Product Owner:

Our Product Owner assessment, written by Bob Galen, encompasses every aspect of the competencies that make up a great Product Owner. This can be used to help brand new Product Owners develop a professional growth roadmap or seasoned, experienced Product Owners take their craft to the next level.

Scrum Master:

Our custom Scrum Master assessment encompasses every aspect of the competencies that make up a great Scrum Master. This can be used to help brand new Scrum Masters develop a professional growth roadmap or seasoned, experienced Scrum Masters take their craft to the next level.

DevOps:

Devops focuses on automation, technical practices, learning, and cross unit collaboration. The Lean Agile Intelligence DevOps Assessment template is influenced by the materials of DevOps pioneers and thought leaders.

Kanban:

Kanban is a method for organizing and managing knowledge work. Kanban facilitates the flow of work by emphasizing visualization, WIP Limits, and continuous improvement. The Lean Agile Kanban Assessment is based off of David Anderson’s and David Carmichael’s Essential Kanban Condensed (2016).

Lean Startup:

Lean startup is a methodology for developing businesses and products. The methodology aims to shorten product development cycles by adopting a combination of business-hypothesis-driven experimentation, iterative product releases, and validated learning. The Lean Agile Intelligence Assessment is based off of the book “The Lean Startup” by Eric Ries.

Scrum:

Scrum is an iterative agile software development framework for managing product development. Scrum stresses teams, self-organizing units of people, should be giving the autonomy to achieve excellence. The Lean Agile Intelligence Scrum Assessment is based off of the latest version (2016) of the Scrum Guide.

Scrum Plus:

The Scrum Plus assessment includes all Scrum practices, some of which have been enhanced beyond the Scrum Guide and includes other practices that contributing coaches have found essential to becoming a high performing Scrum team. Additional practices focus on limiting WIP, tracking improvement, developing cross functionality, building quality in, and developing self-organization through meeting commitments. This is Scrum for the modern age. (Note: intentionally does not include technical practices)

Spotify Health Check:

The Spotify Health Check model is a lightweight workshop & visualization technique for identifying systemic problems and helping teams improve. The Lean Agile Intelligence Spotify Health Assessment is based off of the Squad Health Check model that originated at Spotify and has been adopted by many Agile organizations.

Team Culture:

Team Culture focuses on the behaviors, interactions, values, and motivations of team members. It is influenced by the Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Reinventing Organizations, and Management 3.0.

Team Fundamentals:

Team Fundamentals is a framework agnostic assessment template focusing on team mindset, culture, structure, technical practices, and processes. Influenced by Agile and Lean thought leaders from all over the globe.

Technical Excellence:

Technical Excellence focuses on cutting edge technical practices that enable teams to build quality into their product so it is more reliable and responsive to change. The Lean Agile Intelligence Technical Excellence Assessment Template is influenced by the materials of leading technical Agile practitioners.

XP:

Extreme programming (XP) is a software-development discipline that organizes people to produce higher-quality software and respond to changing customer requirements. XP promotes technical excellence in order to reduce the cost of change and increase customer satisfaction. The Lean Agile Intelligence XP Assessment is based off of the book “Extreme Programming Explained” by Kent Beck.

Assessment templates beyond the team that focus on Agile at Scale practices such as Program and Portfolio Management and Enterprise Agility.

Curated Templates Include:

Enterprise Agility:

Enterprise Agility is a framework agnostic assessment template that focuses on the mindset, leadership, and practices needed to rapidly respond to market conditions and optimize the delivery of value. Influenced by Agile and Lean thought leaders from all over the globe.

Essential Safe:

Essential SAFe includes everything in SAFe 4.6 that is necessary to get started with SAFe. It’s main focus is on the program layer and doesn’t include solution or portfolio layer practices. If you are looking to scale agile teams to deliver working software together using SAFe, this is the essential place to start.

SAFe:

Scaled Agile Framework (or SAFe) is an Agile software development framework. It consists of a knowledge base of integrated patterns intended for enterprise-scale Lean-Agile development. SAFe is scalable and modular, allowing an organization to apply it in a way that suits its need. The Lean Agile Intelligence SAFe Assessment is based off of SAFe 4.6

Launch

  • Launch any Assessment by first choosing the template then selecting “Launch”

2. Choose Self-Assessment Mode

Facilitation Modes

  • Together: Assessment is conducted in real time with all members present in the Self Assessment Platform

  • Separate: Assessment is completed separately by each member. Note, members will not be available until all members have completed the assessment

    • Only one member will take the assessment. This checkbox is only available in Separate mode and only for Individual templates. By selecting this, you are indicating that the assessment can be closed as soon as the first person completes the assessment. This allows to the assessment to be finalized and results calculated without an additional step from the assessment launcher to close the assessment.

Entities

  • Predefined “Entities” who were created in the “Setup” screen will be available in the drop down

  • “Self-Assessments” for multiple entities can run in parallel, but each entity can only have one In-Progress assessment at a time

  • Users have the option to create an “Entity” on the fly

  • Select “Entity” drop down menu to search for an entity

  • Note: Super users will only see entities they are assigned to

Launch Assessment

  • Copy “Self-Assessment” link and send to participates who are not registered team members in LAI.

  • All Members who are registered and assigned to the entity will receive an email with a link to the “Self-Assessment” after the assessment is launched.

 

3. Facilitate - Gather Assessment Votes

Self-Assessment Types:

  1. Together: Assessment is conducted in real time with all members present in the Self Assessment Platform

  2. Separate: Assessment is completed separately by each member. Note, members will not be available until all members have completed the assessment

    Note: Practices are sorted by Practice Dimension

    Note: Facilitator can relaunch an assessment by going to Manage Existing

    Note: Members can access an assessment by going to Participate in existing

Together Mode:

Participants:

  • All participants who have an active “Self-Assessment” can access the “Self-Assessment Platform” by selecting the “Self-Assessment” menu link

    • Select “Participate in Assessment”

  • The “Self-Assessment URL” is available by clicking the link icon if a participant needs it after the “Self-Assessment” has started

  • Each “Practice” in the “Assessment Template” and the “Practice Agility Stage Criteria” will be presented to the “Entity”

  • Each participant should vote on the “Agility Stage” they think the “Entity” is currently in

    • Note all criteria must be met in a specific “Agility Stage” before voting for the next

  • All “Votes” have to be provided by participants in order to see the highest, average, and lowest “Agility Stage” provided

  • Each participant can add notes to a practice by selecting the “Notes” icon.

  • Notes will be viewable to all participants after the facilitator selects the “Show Notes for Participants” button.

  • To view the notes select the “View Notes” icon.

Participants (Participant Only):

  • All people who wish to participate in an assessment but are not registered members can do so via a direct link

  • When on the Launch Assessment screen, copy the link provided and send to people who wish to participate

  • If they go to that URL before the assessment is launched they will be provided with a message that the assessment has not yet started. Once the assessment has been launched they should go to the link again and they will be an active participant.

  • Upon entering they will be provided a pop up menu to fill out the Email, Role, and Display name options.

  • Each participant should vote on the “Agility Stage” they think the entity is currently in

    • Note all criteria must be met in a specific “Agility Stage” before voting for the next

  • All “Votes” have to be provided by participants in order to see the highest, average, and lowest “Agility Stage” provided

  • Each participant can add notes to a practice by selecting the “Notes” icon.

  • Notes will be viewable to all members after the facilitator selects the “Show Notes for Participants” button.

  • To view the notes select the “View Notes” icon.

Facilitators (Admin/Super Users/Facilitator):

  • The Super User, Facilitator, or Admin conducting the “Self-Assessment” will have a set of controls at the bottom of their page to administer the “Self-Assessment”

    • Jump Back: Ability to revisit a “Practice”

    • Revote: Clears the voting results for participants to vote again

    • Override Average: Replace the “Average Agility Stage” with the provided “Agility Stage.” Note the Average Agility Stage for each “Practice” is the value used in the “Results” page

    • Next: Move to the next “Practice.”

      • The Super User, Facilitator, or Admin can move to the next practice even if not all votes are received.

    • Save Results: This button appears on the last “Practice” and finalizes the “Self-Assessment Results.”

    • Cancel/Suspend: Prompts “Admin” with option to save partial results of the “Self-Assessment.”

      • If the user selects “Suspend” the ”Self- Assessment” will be Suspended and the “Admin” will have to continue the Assessment by selecting the “Self-Assessment Platform” link.

        • If they are conducting multiple “Self Assessments,” a list will appear for the “Admin” to choose from.

        • Note partial saved “Self-Assessments” are not included in the “Results” Page.

      • If the “Admin” selects “Cancel” the “Self-Assessment” will be terminated and “Practice Votes” received for that “Self –Assessment” will be deleted.

    • Mark as Growth Goal - marks the current Practice as a goal. Goals can be viewed and managed in the Results screen.

    • Mark as Impediments - marks the current Practice as an impediment. Impediments can be viewed and managed in the Results screen.

    • Add/Edit Note - unformatted information that can be contributed by any assessment participant. One note is recorded for each user for each Practice. Notes are preserved for historical reference.

    • View Notes - shows all notes from all participants in the assessment for the shown Practice.

    • Show Notes to Participants - If selected, all assessment participants (not just the facilitator) can View Notes from all participants in the assessment.

Separate Mode:

Participants

  • Once the Self-Assessment is launched in separate mode participant will receive an email invite for the assessment

    • When the link is selected they will be prompted to log in

      • Note participants must activate their account before completing a “Self-Assessment”

    • The will be taken directly to the Self Assessment Platform if they have only one active assessment

  • All participants who have an active “Self-Assessment” can also access the “Self-Assessment Platform” by selecting the “Self-Assessment” menu link

    • Select “Participate in Assessment”

    • If there are more than one active assessment, the participant will be prompted to select which one they want to take/continue

  • Participants will be presented each practice in the “Assessment Template”

  • Each participant should vote on the “Agility Stage” they think the entity is currently in

    • Note all criteria must be met in a specific “Agility Stage” before voting for the next

  • Each participant will have a set of controls at the bottom of the screen

    • Jump Back: Ability to revisit a “Practice”

    • Next: Move to the next “Practice”

      • Note this becomes “Finish Assessment” on the last “Practice” and finalizes the “Self-Assessment Results.”

    • Suspend: Selecting this button will save votes that have been provided by you to that point so you can return and finish at a later time

  • Each participant can add notes to a practice by selecting the “Notes” icon. Notes will be viewable in “Insights Canvas” results by selecting on the practice.

  • After participant completes an individual assessment the admin will receive a list of users who have completed to date.

  • The assessment results will not be available until the facilitator hits save results

Participants (Participant Only):

  • All people who wish to participate in an assessment but are not registered members can do so via a direct link

  • When on the Launch Assessment screen, copy the link provided and send to people who wish to participate

  • If they go to that URL before the assessment is launched they will be provided with a message that the assessment has not yet started. Once the assessment has been launched they go to the link again and they will be an active participant.

  • Upon entering they will be provided a pop up menu to fill out the Email, Role, and Display name options.

  • Participants will be presented each practice in the “Assessment Template”

  • Each participant should vote on the “Agility Stage” they think is the current state.

    • Note all criteria must be met in a specific “Agility Stage” before voting for the next

    • If the user wishes to not cast a vote, the Abstain button may be clicked. The Abstain option increases the vote count, but does not cast a vote that will be used to determine the Practice Agility Stage. This allows participants to opt-out of a Practice while communicating to the facilitator that they are finished voting for a Practice.

  • Each participant will have a set of controls at the bottom of the screen

    • Jump Back: Ability to revisit a “Practice”

    • Next: Move to the next “Practice”

      • Note this becomes “Finish Assessment” on the last “Practice” and finalizes the “Self-Assessment Results.”

  • Each participant can add notes to a practice by selecting the “Notes” icon. Notes will be viewable in the “Insights Canvas” after selecting the practice.

  • After each participant completes the assessment the admin will receive an email with information on who has completed the assessment and who has not.

  • Note: Participant only cannot suspend an assessment.  They must finish it once accessed or take it again if they don’t complete

Facilitators (Admin/Super Users):

  • The Super User or Admin administrating the “Self-Assessment” should utilize the Self Assessment Platform to monitor the “Self-Assessment”

  • Facilitators can add notes to a practice by selecting the “Notes” icon. Notes will be viewable in the “Insights Canvas” after selecting the practice

  • The Super User, Facilitator, or Admin administrating the “Self-Assessment” will have a set of controls at the bottom of their page to administer the “Self-Assessment”

    • Jump Back: Ability to revisit a “Practice”

    • Next: Move to the next “Practice”

      • Note this becomes “Finish Assessment” on the last “Practice” and finalizes the “Self-Assessment Results”

    • Save Entity Results: Selecting this button will end the assessment for everyone and save off the entity results. It will calculate the results based off of the assessment votes received to date.

      • This functionality can be utilized by facilitators (i.e. Coaches) who are only facilitating the assessment and not participating 

      • It should be used when all votes are received and the entity is ready to review the results

        • When selecting on the people icon, those highlighted in “white” have completed the assessment

    • Cancel/Suspend: Selecting this button will present two options. “Cancel” will end the assessment for everyone. This will delete all individual assessments received to date “Suspend will save votes that have been provided by you to that point so you can return and finish at a later time. Note that this does not suspend the “Self Assessment” for all users

    • After all members have completed the assessment, an email will be sent to the Admin confirming the assessment has been completed.

4. Assessment History

The Assessment History screen displays the current status of all assessments ever taken within an organization. This includes in progress, completed, and canceled assessments.

Columns

  • Mark to Delete – includes items that are to be deleted via the Delete button

    1. Re-open – places a completed or cancelled assessment back in progress (see Re-open action)

    2. Entity – the entity taking (or that has taken) the assessment

    3. Status – the assessment status – Completed, Cancelled, or In Progress

    4. Mode – the manner in which the assessment was conducted – Together or Separate

    5. Date Launched – the date the assessment was first started

    6. Facilitator – the email address of the facilitator of the assessment

    7. Date Completed/Canceled – the most recent date the assessment was completed or canceled

    8. Total Completed – the number of participants who took the assessment

    9. Completed By – the list of members and participant-only users who took the assessment

    10. Template Name – the name of the assessment template for the assessment

    11. Total Questions – the total number of questions in the assessment

Actions

  • Sort

    • Note that most columns of the grid can be sorted by clicking the column name

  • Delete

    • The Delete button will only appear when at least one has the column Mark to Delete checked

    • The Delete button will appear in the bottom-left below the grid

    • Only completed assessments can be deleted

    • Results from the assessments deleted will also be deleted

  • Re-open

    • Only the latest completed assessment for each entity can be re-opened

    • Only the latest canceled assessment for each entity can be re-opened unless a more-recent completed assessment for that team exists

    • A canceled assessment cannot be re-opened if the assessment template has been modified since the assessment was launched.

  • Filter

    • Only filtering by entity is currently supported

    • Select the team to filter by in the Select Entity control and then click the Filter button to reflect the changes in the grid

    • Click the Reset button to remove any filters and immediately reflect the changes in the grid

Permissions

Only Admins, Super Users, and Facilitators have access to this screen.
